​  Elyria Developmental Center Programs are for children grades K-6 

 Below are programs with a small description we will be offering. 

Occupational Therapy: Focus is on helping children work on cognitive, physical, social, and motor skills. The goal is to improve everyday skills which allow people to become more independent and participate in a wide range of activities.

​ Speech Therapy: Improving overall communication. This makes it possible for children with autism to improve their ability to form relationships and function in day-to-day life activities, while communicating both verbally and nonverbally.

Intervention Session: Targeted therapy sessions for specific Autism disorders. Sessions will be tailored for individuals per special requests.

Online or “face to face” Homework Club: a resource Elyria Developmental Center will offer to help children with their homework.
  
 Fine Motor Skills: Assisting children with fine motor skills such as pencil skills (scribbling, coloring, drawing, and writing), Scissors skills (cutting), Construction skills (Legos, puzzles, train tracks, etc.), and Self-care (dressing, tying shoelaces, ling up sandals, zips, buttons, and belts).

  Music Therapy: Assisting with musical abilities.

 Science (STEM Program): Providing STEM workshops and science experiments. There will be Science fares for parents.

 Therapy Arts and crafts: Fostering creativity by conducting art projects and offering a variety of crafts for the children
.
 Sensory Programs: Sensory-based approaches to treating Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs). Focus is on correcting and improving the body's abnormal response to external stimuli.

Sports Program: Designed to help children move and develop teamwork social skills.
  
 Special educational programs and Activities designed from student’s IEP: Tailored educational programs and activities put together for each child per each child’s IEP.

 None baking/ cooking class: A program where children learn to make their own snacks and learn to adjust or embrace eating and tasting different foods and textures.

Unique calming Yoga classes: Helping children with body awareness, improving motor skills, helping with transition and developing self-esteem, relaxation, and communication skills.
 Thera-Build with LEGO: A therapeutic approach for promoting emotional Well-Being

Tutoring:  the goal is to help children to help themselves, and to assist or guide them to the point at which they become independent learners.
